Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

Well today l did...

Today at work we had an agency cleaner who was caught out by our manager cleaning a tenants flat in work time... when she should have been cleaning communal area's only. I didnt report her but someone else did... l usually keep my head down and say nothing.

I saw this lady later on in the day (first time l had met her) and she told me she had just had her knuckle wrapped and what for... she was really distressed... I sympathised with her and said l was sorry she got told off but company rules have to be adhered. l helped her for half an hour with the rest of her work. When she went home after her 4 hours were up l said goodbye and see you on Monday... she said l dont think so... I dont think l will be comming back and went off.

Later that day l saw our Manager and told her that l didnt think the domestic was comming back as she was upset at the way she was spoken to this morning and we might find ourselves without a cleaner on Monday... My boss then got onto the agency and said she didnt want her back because she had spoken to me and not to her! Plus a few other details, (which now l know were not true and she was exaggerating.

Later that day the lady who's flat she cleaned said to me... What a nice lady that new cleaner is and told me her vacummn cleaner had broken down in the morning... she had mentioned it to the cleaner and she said dont worry you can borrow this one when l am done... and then said oh as l am outside your door l will quickly vacummn round for you...

These facts werent told to me before by the manager or the cleaner before she went... Just wait till Monday when l tell her... I think she did that lady an injustice by telling her off before she knew the whole story... She thought she was doing private cleaning for personal gain inside working hours.

I was so glad l was sympathic towards her at least she knows we are not all tyrants!
